Oh but there have been improvements.. And I need to acknowledge them and be happy for them! No it's not how "it should be" or how "I want it to be" but a work in progress!! That's encouraging!
Every morning Since my last post I've started saying this out loud to myself before my feet ever touch the floor.. ACCEPT what IS... LET GO of what was.. And have FAITH in what will be!(not sure of the author) just a little exercise in setting my mind in a more positive mode!
Also focusing on scriptures that remind me to be SLOW TO ANGER!!! ( I came across a part in a book that read.. By controlling our tongue and trusting that You God are truly in Control of Everything, anger will change into peace and I will become a great witness!) YES!!! That's what I need in my life right now!
Proverbs 15:1 a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Next I turned to scriptures on PATIENCE..
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind Love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude, It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with truth. Love bears all things, endures all things.
And scriptures on going through DIFFICULTIES
James 1:2 Consider it all joy my brethren when you encounter various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
During this time I came across another little saying (author I can't remember) that says to always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind hat forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God!
Knowing that the decisions we are facing and even the every day decisions with a special needs child, were becoming overwhelming to me I also started looking for insight into how to make these decisions....
#1- make the decision to let God be God!!!!! (You will never make progress in this area as long as you refuse to give up control)
Proverbs 16 we can make our own plans, but The Lord gives the right answer.
#2- study the word of God
#3- surround yourself with people who are further along in the journey.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. when they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ
#4- NEVER give up!
Be glad about your progress!!
Hebrews 12:1-3 And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. we do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the Cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside Gods throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people, then you won't become weary and give up.
So that's my work in progress.. Applying these scriptures to my everyday life sometimes succeeding and most times begging forgiveness!! And battling on .. One day at a time!!!
